CHARACTERISTICS OF OUR PICUALIA OLIVE OILS

The extra virgin olive oils from Picualia are juices from olives of great quality. For the production of the different formats of oil, the olives are harvested during the months of October, November, and December. During these Months pass, the fruit ripens and changes color, going from a green fruit in October, with which the Premium range is made, to a ripe black fruit in December that gives rise to the extra virgin olive oils of the Family range, with less intensity and fruitiness, but of excellent quality.

The range of Premium oils from Picualia - Reserva Picual oil and Premium Picual oil - consists of early and fruity oils, in which all the green attributes of the picual olive are obtained, with a harmonic aroma that reminds us of tomato plant, artichoke, green banana, freshly cut grass, olive leaf, or alloza, and with a characteristic emerald green color of this type of Extra Virgin Olive Oils. This type of olive juice is rich in polyphenols and antioxidants.

The Family Range oil in 5L format has less green freshness but gains in smoother notes from an organoleptic point of view. This oil is ideal for cooking with a high-quality product while preserving the traditional flavor. The most predominant tasting notes are ripe banana peel, tomato soup, mashed ripe fruits, or aromatic plants from Sierra Morena, which still persist in this fruit and therefore in these matured olive juices.

PRICES OF PICUALIA OILS

The price of the different formats varies depending on the yield of the olive, as for the production of early harvest (premium) oil, which is made from green olives in early October, the yield level is 10%. However, the 5-liter olive oil is obtained from olives harvested in December with a more mature fruit, and its yield averages around 23%.
